Course and tuition terms

These terms cover group leathercraft courses and private tuition with Hands of Tym, in person and online. Please read the section for your booking before paying.

Group courses and workshops

Choose a date when you book. The course listing explains what’s included, where to go and the planned start and finish times. Materials are included in Bag in a Day workshops unless we agree otherwise before you book.

The statutory 14 day right to change your mind generally does not apply to leisure workshops booked for a specific date. Our cancellation policy below still applies.

Private tuition and consultancy

Contact us to agree the date, time, session length and format before you book or pay. We’ll confirm what’s included and agree any extra costs with you in advance. Materials for private practical sessions are usually charged separately. If you’re booking multiple sessions, agree the dates with us before paying.

If you book online or by phone as a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. Where that right applies and you expressly ask us to start within those 14 days, you may need to pay for the part already provided. The right can end once the service is fully delivered if you expressly agreed to an early start and acknowledged that you would lose the right on completion.

Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel: Email info@handsoftym.live with your name, booking reference and course date. We’ll use the date we receive your email to work out how much notice you gave.

  • At least five weeks before the start: We’ll refund at least 75% of the booking price. We may keep up to 25% to cover our reasonable losses.
  • Less than five weeks before the start: We may keep up to the full booking price if that is what we reasonably lose. If our loss is lower, we’ll refund the difference.

We’ll take into account any costs we save and whether we can fill your place or rebook the time. If you miss a session after a course starts, please contact us. Any refund will depend on the circumstances and your legal rights.

If we cancel or postpone: We’ll contact you as soon as possible and try to agree a new date that works for both of us. If we can’t agree a suitable date, we’ll refund the full amount you paid for the affected booking.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

On the day

  • Pay in full before the course or session starts. Please arrive on time and follow the tutor’s safety instructions.
  • Contact us before booking for anyone under 18.
  • Finish times are approximate. Leather colours and materials are subject to availability. Natural leather and work made by hand vary from piece to piece.
  • Course materials are for your own learning. Please ask before copying, recording or sharing them.
